Membership is open to men who are retired form full-time gainful occupation, regardless of age, race, color or religion. We ask that you attend at least one meeting before you are formally approved for membership. All SIR Branch 93 Monthly Luncheon Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at the Elks Club, 6446 Riverside Blvd in Sacramento. The Social Hour starts at 11AM and Lunch starts at 12 Noon. Lunch costs $16.

Potential applicants are encouraged to attend a meeting as a guest of a current member or on their own. If you come on your own please introduce yourself to the Attendance committee members near the door. They will make sure that you are linked up with a member who will help you understand the SIR organization and our branch activities. They will also help you meet up with some other members. If you are not sure about joining, read part 1, part 2, part 3 and part 4 of a four part article by Harry Hubinger about SIR.

Prospective members should be aware of the following attendance rules for Branch 93:

Members are obligated to attend all regular luncheon meetings unless prevented by illness or absence from the Branch locale. (Rule 60). If you cannot attend a meeting you need to contact one of the Attendance Chairs before the meeting to get credit for an excused absence.

A member who misses three (3) consecutive meetings without notifying the Branch Attendance Committee giving a valid reason, or who attends less than six (6) regular meetings within the last twelve (12) consecutive month period, may be notified, by letter, of the pending termination of his membership in SIR.
