[SOMETHING TO CROW ABOUT]

[MEETING DATE AUGUST 16TH, 2010]

[DEADLINE FOR THE SEPT. 2010 BULLETIN IS

FRIDAY AUGUST 20TH 2010]

[BIG SIR MAYNARD “ROD RODLAND  SAYS]

Last month’s (July) bulletin sent to SIR93 members the list of 2011 office holders.  Your consideration for approval will be presented at the August meeting.

SIR 93 seems to be holding the membership number.  However, we would like to have that friend or acquaintance of yours who likes to play golf regularly, or bowl with a fun group.  The food at the luncheon has been gathering many compliments from the membership. This, too; may be an incentive for bringing in new members.

[THIS MONTHS PROGRAM]

August Mystery  Guest

A native of French Lick, Indiana (but he’s not Hall of Framer Larry Bird) or debonair guest has a unique understanding of the interaction among basketball players, coaches and the front office.  The wearer of many hats, he’s been head coach, director of player personnel, general manager, and broadcaster.  Among his many other duties, he is responsible for keeping abreast of player pools, both professional and collegiate.  He is described as “an extremely popular figure with both the Sacramento community and the national media”  Who is he?  Find out at our luncheon on August 16th .

PS:  Can you say “playoffs?”

[OUR AUGUST LUNCH WILL BE CHICKEN VERONIQUE]

[SUBJECT: A SENSITIVE MAN]

The room was full of pregnant women with their partners.  The class was in full swing.

The instructor was teaching the women how to breathe properly and was telling the men how to give the necessary assurance to their partners at this stage of the pregnancy.

She said “ladies, remember that exercise is good for you, walking is especially beneficial.  It strengthens the pelvic muscles and will make delivery that much easier!”

She looked at the men in the room, “and gentlemen, remember—You’re in this together ---it wouldn’t hurt you to go walking with her.”

The room

Suddenly got very quiet as the men absorbed this information.

Then a man at the back of the room slowly raised his hand.

“Yes?” answered the teacher.

“ I was just wondering, is it all right if she carries a golf bag while we walk?
